The BMW M5 is the high-performance version of the BMW 5 Series, designed by the motorsport division of the German manufacturer BMW. Appeared in its first version in 1984, the M5 has since declined after each generation of the 5 Series, the E28 from the 1980s to the current E60. With the renewal of the 5 Series range and the transition to the F10/F11 generation, a new version of the M5 will be presented and marketed by 2012.
