Restyled in 2004, the BMW X5 xDrive adopting new and more powerful engines. 4,4 L passes from 286 to 320 hp, while the 4.6L engine is gaining to 4.8 L and 360 hp. Side the 3.0 L diesel goes from 184 to 193, then 218 hp thanks to the adoption of a common rail direct injection of the second generation. The entire range is now available with a 6-speed transmission.
This first generation X5 has sold 580,000 copies worldwide and was the first large SUV to get five-star Euro NCAP test.
